MY COMEBACK TO MBFWI: DAY 1/ MBFWI'a GERİ DÖNÜŞ 1. GÜN

Herkese merhaba ! Bugün tüm modaseverlerin heyecanla beklediği etkinlik olan Mercedes Benz Fashion Week İstanbul başladı. Yine Antrepo 3'te yapılan Fashion Week etkinliği artık bebek adımlarını bırakıp organizasyon olarak olgunlaşmaya başlamış gibi görünüyor. Eski yıllarda çok organizasyonel problem yaşayan moda haftasının bu şekilde bir ilerleme göstermesi beni çok mutlu etti. Fakat ambalaj güzel olup içerik iyi olmayınca insan üzülüyor. Bu sezon izlediğim 3 defile de bana gelecek sezona dair hiçbir umut vermedi, aynı tas aynı hamam. Pop-art, farklı dokular ve kumaşların birleşimi, derin yırtmaçlar, biraz pasteller- floral desenler, bol kesim üstü sloganlı parçalar, aralarda biraz deriler, sportluxe vs. Biz bunların hepsini zaten gördük, bize ileriye bakacak bir şey verilseydi daha memnun ayrılacaktım açıkçası. 

Hi TheModernTalkers ! Today, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Istanbul has finally started (yeay !). I am really happy that as an organization fashion week has evolved and its more mature now, no more baby steps. This was the happy news but as far as the content of the catwalks go I cannot say that I have seen anything to look forward to in the next season. It is same old same old, patterns, pop-art, baggy t-shirts, leather, slits, sportluxe... I really wish there was something in the new season to look forward to but its still the first day so I won't lose my hope just now...

Ben hiçbir şekilde bir tasarımcının emeğini yerden yere vurmak istemem çünkü gerçekten 5-10 dakikalık catwalk'lar için fazlasıyla emek, kan-ter akıtılıyor ama İstanbul moda başkenti olmak için her şeye sahip sadece dünyada olan biteni, trendleri, gereken kaynakları ( sanat, film, müzik vs.) daha yakından takip edip onları kendimize entegre ederek ilerlememiz lazım. Birikim ve inovasyon ile yetenekli tasarımcılarımızı daha da iyi yerlerde göreceğiz diye umuyorum ki bir kısmının başarılarına zaten tanık olduk.

Bugün için ben yine rahat ve şık bir kombin tercih ettim. Maskülen-feminen görünümün peşine takılarak, görünümümü motorsiklet ceket, skinny jean ve uzun beyaz gömlek ile tamamladım. Hem biraz edgy hem de herkesin dolabında bulunabilecek klasik parçalar ile zamansız bir görünüm elde etmek istedim. Umarım hoşunuza gitmiştir :) ! TATLIŞ PARTİSİ vol.2. İYİKİ DOĞDUN ELİF ! / DAY OUT WITH MY DARLINGS vol.2. ELIF'S B'DAY

Dün biricik arkadaşımız Elif'in doğum gününü 'gecikmeli' olarak kutladık. Çok güzel bir geceydi, tüm tatlış partili arkadaşlarımın emeğine ve gönüllerinin güzelliğine sağlık diyerek stilime geçiyorum. Bu sefer Zelalciğim sağolsun benim resimlerimi çekti, benim tüm nazımı çeken Zelal'e özel bir teşekkürü bir borç bilirim :) 

Gelgelelim ne giydiğime.. Ben bu gece için artık klasikleşen bir renk olacak olan bebek mavisini  dantel etek formunda kullandım ve onu füme rengi ipekli-penyeli uzun kollu bluzumle tamamlamayı tercih ettim. Tam bir ara sezon kıyafeti oldu aslında, ne yazlık ne sonbaharlık tam ikisinin arası ;) Biraz daha rahat olmak adına kurt detaylı babetlerimi giydim. Aksesuar olarak babetlerime, zincirli clutch'ım ve statement necklace'ım eşlik ediyor bana. Zaten tercihim böyle bir kolye olunca, başka aksesuara ihtiyaç duymadım açıkçası. Hepinize harika bir haftasonu diliyorum :) !

Hey everyone ! Yesterday we celebrated one of my dearest friends birthday with a little bit of a delay, though. It was a great night with full of laughter - its what happens when I am with my darlings !! 

Let's see what I wore last night. As my own personal style goes I like to be simple, comfy and chic. I think lighter tones of blue is going to be one of our 'seasonal colors like black or beige so do invest in a piece of blue ! I wore a lace detailed blue skirt and I combined it with a dark grey silk-ish sweater to look more sophisticated for the possible transition to a night out. In terms of my pick in accessories, I didn't wore much since I had a statement necklace. All in all my outfit was a mid-seasonal look, it was in-between fall and summer seasons maybe we can call it spring-ish :)

DUVARLARIN DİLİ: GRAFFITI / LANGUAGE OF THE WALL: GRAFFITI

Bu sergiyi en yakın arkadaşım Selen ile merakla bekliyorduk ve geçen hafta ziyaret etme fırsatı bulduk. Açıkçası benim pek fazla bir beklentim yoktu fakat gerçekten farklı mesajlarla dolu özgür ruhlu sanatçılar beni etkilemeyi başardı. Graffiti üzerinde hep negatif bir etiket olsa da, bence graffiti insanların sisteme meydan okuması için alternatif bir alan yaratıyor, bu da aslında bir şekilde kendini ifade edebilme biçimi ve hayata bir bakış açısı. Tıpkı 1990'ların hip-hop akımının motto'larından biri olan 'Fight the Power' gibi graffiti yapımı da politikleştirilmiştir ve hoş görülmemiştir. Fakat graffiti büyük şehirlerden tutun da mağaralara kadar her yerde ve bir iletişim şekli hatta bir 'networking faaliyeti' haline gelmiş durumda. Böyle bir farkındalık yarattığından dolayı sergiyi çok başarılı buldum. 'Graffiti sanat mıdır ?' sorusuna hiç girmiyorum bile.

We were looking forward to this exhibition with my best friend Selen. I wasn't expecting much to be honest but the messages relayed through graffiti can really have an impact on individuals (at least me !) There is a negative label attached to graffiti but it is a space that allows to trigger people's imagination, challenge the system and open up a space for communication. It is an alternative space to express yourself likewise 1990s hip-hop movement in U.S.A 'Fight the Power' (as hip-hop challenging the system), these movements both graffiti and hip-hop have been politicized but right now as everything is in flux their meanings are on the verge of change. I find the exhibition successful in the sense that it challenges what we take for granted. 

Note. The exhibition is still on Pera Museum, Taksim.

TATLIŞ PARTİSİ/ DAY N' NIGHT OUT WITH THE DARLINGS

Evet, uzun süredir yazamadım maalesef istediğim ilhamı yakalayamıyordum ama bugün gerçekten ilham verici oldu. Hem kampüsümün güzel atmosferi hem de bir o kadar güzel ve tatlış dostlarımla bu resimlerin çekilmesi kaçınılmazdı ! Harika bir gündü, bunu gerçekleştiren Tatlış Partimize sevgiler :) Special thanks ise resimlerimi çeken İpek Yavuz'a, kuşların kuşu ;) 

I haven't been blogging for a while but I wasn't really capturing the spirit and the look that I wanted so today is the day to break the chain ! With my lovely campus and with my awesome friends, I was able to capture a good tune. 

Şimdi gelelim bugünkü görünümüme. Beni bilenler zaten rahat, şık, klasik ve ilginç detayları yakalamayı seven bir tarafım olduğunu biliyor. Bugün de yüksek tempolu bir gün geçirdiğimden gündüzden geceye uyum sağlayabilecek rahat bir 'look'un peşinden gittim. Gardrobuma yeni giren T by Alexander Wang gömleğim vazgeçilmezlerimden biri olacağa benziyor, eh zaten yırtık skinny jean ve House of Holland x Superga iş birliği olan spor ayakkabılarımın bana bir 'edge' kattığını düşünüyorum. Aksesuarlarım high fashion markalarından Taksim pasajlarına kadar uzanan bir çeşitlilik içerisinde.

Today as my style goes, I prefered to be chic and comfy at the same time. I really find the beauty in detailing the basics so I try to use a lot of accessory in my outfits. Because I had a busy schedule today, I had to choose a look that was going to be suitable for both day and night and also it has to be comfortable. I hope I captured a nice look ;)

BOĞAZİÇİ GRADUATES IN STYLE

Hey everyone, I was busy attending our graduation ceremonies and I am not even graduating yet. But I have 4 modules left and I wanted to have fun with my friends. Some of you may know but my university "Boğaziçi" is Turkey's best school and it is really hard to get in. It nurtures the greatest minds from all over Turkey and every graduate is an unique mind. With this note, I am sharing the most memorable moments of our prom in Çırağan Palace and my look for the night.
