Istanbul Design Week'te Ne Giydim ?/What I Wore in İstanbul Design Week.

For October 1st and 2nd I have spent my weekend in Istanbul Design Week. Design week showed me that designs are unlimited and expanded my vision. It was about fashion, industrial design, sustainability and brand design and professional speakers from many firms were in Istanbul, Old Galata Bridge.

For the first time in Turkey a Bloggers Meeting was organized and the blog writer of designmixer was the talker.

I have said too much, see what I wore to the Istanbul Design Week.

Tops are H&M and other look's top from Zara. The flower is from my Gap tank. Jeans are Current/Elliot and Citizens of Humanity. Shoes are Tory Burch and Camper.

Burayı söylemeyi unuttum! Modayla ilgili olan kısımları sizinle paylaşmak istedim. İlk görecekleriniz Arzu Kaprol by Coke Design.

I forgot to tell you. The part below is fashion design. First section is Arzu Kaprol by Coke Design who is a very bright and popular fashion designer from Turkey and participated Paris Fashion Week alongside with Hüseyin Çağlayan this year. This is her work with the young fashion design students.

Aşağıdaki favorim :) My favourite- you cannot find a good back with a couture signiture on it !

 Fashion Highlights !

Fashion illustrations of design student first one is H&M models on an autentic graphic design. And other one is taken from the brand Carnivale.

HAIDER ACKERMANN 2012

Bence bunu her seferinde yapıyor.

Ackermann is evolving in every collection. The line is more masculen and he wanted an " easiness" in this collection. He generally uses asymetry with a lots of skin showing up and he gathers his design identity with a theme or inspiration point. He mostly uses transparent fabrics in the collections. His inspiration point is 19th century poets like Lord Byron and 1963 movie Le Mepris. He wanted to combine the traditional vision with the cool rock wave of 50s. There is a most definitely Orient culture embedded in this collection as far as I have noticed. The kaftan-blazer look or baloony "shalvar/şalvar" trousers and also flowy fabrics and cool leather. These all gives us the cool, edgy, asymetric and also masculen. There is a little bit Spartan or Greek (as in posture like the sculptures), Rome culture in clothes and postures, especially the last looks the metallic ones. The oxford-slipper thing is a whole other dimension to talk about it has inspirations from Orient. The dominant colors were purple, blue, green, red, grey and black usual Ackermann the basic statement colors. But I could say that this collection is more colorful than previous ones because he mostly do black.

We are now where we started: Paris. After the couture week, now we are facing with the 2012 Spring collections from Paris-based designers. To start with I chose Comme Des Garçons( Like Boys). The brand like its name usually go with the masculen lines and different fabrics but Rei Kawakubo surprised me. She is pretty important for Japan in terms of a fashion designer. She also designs at Paris, too. As far as I know she doesn't draw while designing, she just gets the fabric and mannequin and works like that: what pops up that moment. We have crazy brides this season which is not my aesthetic at all when it comes to ready-to-wear. If it was couture I could accept that, but these are not wearable. The bridal collection has some details from Orient and the whole collection is white, the symbol of purity. The show is dramatic and has a message in it so an artistic vision or perspective needed to understand what this collection means.
